The removal of the bells of St. Mary’s, Bletsoe began on Monday 11th August 2014. It took approximately three days to complete. Paul Mason the bell hanger from John Taylor’s was assisted by three volunteers which reduced the cost by £3600. These were Pat Albon tower captain at Sharnbrook and also the vice president of the Bedfordshire District of Bell Ringers, Simon Sweeney ringer at Sharnbrook and our own tower captain at Bletsoe Paul Vine. The whole three days passed without incident and was overseen by the churchwardens of the church.
